San Diego Air And Space Museum Inspiration

Visited the excellent San Diego Air and Space Museum in 2014. Whilst wandering and snapping, a docent spotted my enthusiasm and asked if I wanted to see the workshop in the basement. Not needing to be asked twice, my wife and I were given an excellent informal personal tour.We were introduced to Engineers who had worked on the Enola Gay and continued to volunteer their time there. Stand out item for me was a tail fin of Blackbird 17955 (pictured), alongside one of it's massive J58 Engines. Decided to build that aircraft using the Italeri kit I already owned.
