I guess a second best would be a digital copy of the build instructions in pdf format, which sometimes is seen on kits listed on Scalemates. 🙂

my suggestion may make this more complicated but the aircraft are not painted in alclad II, or Tamiya paint but according to a standard such as FS595 or BS. In addition, there are often agreed paint schemes such as SIOP, SEA or "lizzard scheme".

It would be very nice to have a section on real-life paint schemes with their official referene and standardised paint references, and from there a link to the various model paints.

Although I fear this would be a mamoth task.

Check here.... our goal/hope was that after filling X amounts of decal options the amount of variants would stagnate. And we could use this as "Popular" schemes/colors. It has been a while since I last check if I can merge similar entries....

Impressive!!! there is still a lot more to this site than what I know and have seen. Fantastic how you can make the data itself do the heavy crunching instead of manual labour.

Still, we should be able to go from FS or BS numbers or ... to Humbrol, Tamiya numbers ...

I guess it would not be that hard to make a reference table?

We have colorcodes for FS colors as well as colorcodes for color cans. If the values are close enough we fan do the match automatically

This is now possible, the FS/RAL/RLM codes under Markings are now clickable, on the color page you can see same/similar colors

This is a very nice feature indeed. Would it be possible to have filters (by paint brand and paint type, mostly) in the Color page ?
Also, when I click on the My tab (All/My), there are no results even if one of the paints listed below is in my stash. Is that a bug ?

The "My" should show the paint ranges you have listed on your profile (in your case: Model Master Humbrol Tamiya Testors MIG Productions)

can you let me know which color you looked at?

I understand now that it's paint ranges. But would it not make more sense for the 'My' filter to select the paints I actually have in my stash ?

@gorby: oh yes, They really make the difference. The age of the kit is noticeable, so the PE is a nice plus.
@Łukasz Gliński: There will be no camo pattern. The vehicle is small and such an elaborate multi-color camouflage would make all details visually disappear. In the end, it would only look colorful and misshapen, i guess.
@Robert Podkoński: thank you for the pics! A good source, also for later projects 😉 However, the exhibited specimen would have to be a replica, because according to my research, no original vehicle has survived over the time.
