Base painting done. I need to learn to do the continuous line camo for the next night fighter. Any good guides for 1/72 scale? I am good enough to do it at 1/48 but just not skilled for 1/72.

And I think the paint is sufficiently fixed. Vallejo brush paints to the rescue.

Exactly right, Ben! It comes together almost by itself, I feel like an observer in the construction 🙂 .

The new tamiya stuff is very precise. When I built the Matilda ii, I would have difficulty taking parts apart after dry fitting so I could glue them. I was amazed.

I'm not a fan of 0.15mm airbrush. It stops painting at random times, it's difficult to control the amount of paint, just doesn't work for me. Lots of repair will need to happen here.

That does sound rough. I don't know if this will help but I've found the Iwata airbrush cleaner very helpful.

In my experience I've learned that if your paint is clogging up the tip at random times use one drop of liquid dish soap in the mix of paint & thinner. It stops the clogging and improves the flow but paint dries normally. First time I did this I seen slightly different color patches here and there but once dry everything was uniform.

Thanks, Clair, I'll give it a try. I used to get clogging regularly when using Vallejo paints, after switching to MRP, it was always great. I thought it would be the same on 0.15 as with 0.4mm, that was too optimistic. Will update once I try it.

I have heard bad things about Vallejo and airbrushes but great for regular brushing. Sort of opposite with Tamiya. I have a PS771 with the 0.18mm and I use Tamiya so it may not apply to you, but for fine lines 70% Levelling thinner, about 30% paint and lower the air pressure (12psi or so) so you don't get spiderwebs and it works pretty well. Still get tip drying once in a while, but point away from the model, give it a quick full blast and that usually takes care of it. Or, you can keep a cotton swab with thinner on it and just touch it to the airbrush tip and that will usually fix it too.

Boy, the add-on alone are going to cost more than the kit! I'm taking a seat to see how you spruce this one up!

Oh my what a project. Will be interesting to see how those detail parts will do. Also nice sheet, what decal option are you going with?

Thanks a lot gentlemen! Well all those stuff collected dust for many many years, when scale models and add on didn't have such high prices like today, so all this wasn't more than 30 bugs bought at model shows.
@Rando, I haven't decided yet, it will be an US one, but not sure which one.
