@ Trez : Airfix is not better, nor Academy, nor Hasegawa ! There are no "reasonnably" perfect Me 262 kit at this scale, all of them suffering of some trouble, all of them having some great qualities... The Revell one is the best one in terms of quality, very easy to assemble, Tamyia stuff quality overall... but it suffers from a problem nearly no one can see, a positive incidence of engines nacelles regarding wing's incidence. Not easy to see at all for sure !
According the type of 262 you wish to built, you can combine sub-assemblies of specified kits to ease your correction work.
Czechs craftmen have a nice potential future kit with this one !

Hi Transall NG, thank you for the comment and insight! You mention the Tamiya and Revell kits - I assume you mean 1/48 or 1/32?
I have a fair few Czech/Eastern European kits - very good indeed - top of their game. There will always be newer kits that want to jump into your stash but I find it's like looking for the end of a rainbow. Eduard Volume 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 where does it all end? I prefer to check the kits I have and make my own adjustments within my limits - otherwise model kits are saturated with the dreaded After-Market thus stifling initiative and creativity whilst emptying one's pockets!

I like your above comment, it's all part of the fun doing custom work and improving...l like scratch building little bits n bobs n details.
I'm trying to discipline myself on buying, lm trying to stick to build one buy one🤣
Trouble is if l buy a model with intention to build next..... Something else pops up !
How did you get on with the mottled effect on this build?? Did you practice on paper first ??

Yes, it does seem to be a common issue🤭
I didn't practice on a piece of card or plastic sheet (which is the right way) I just go from one test bed kit to another. But what I found is - low pressure, higher dilution and end cap off airgun. Really best if one can get the thinnest line possible on a practice sheet. If it goes wrong it's no bad thing to tidy up with the base colour

Thanks Trez... For advice, l did struggle a little when l did my FW-190.
And intend to do a ME-262 in future....as l think it's historically a must have in the collection.

@Transall NG, my father just got caught up in a wave of "Messerization" in the 1990s. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a flood of articles about the Luftwaffe flooded into Russia, which was like an ideological distraction. Many people dreamed of Messerschmitt and Focke-Wulf aircraft, considering them the best while simultaneously criticizing Soviet aircraft. Perhaps this was successful because in Soviet times, the qualities of German and Allied aircraft were underplayed, and there was little information about them available.
