Interesting subject! I had thought the kikka was almost a direct copy of the Me-262, kind of like the shusui/Me-163 but I see that's not the case. How is the kit? Looks good on the sprues at least.

It's a beautifully molded kit. Very fine detail. Fit is okay, except for the wings to fuselage, but nothing too concerning. There are a couple of sink marks though, which forces me to look foor other main wheels. The Kikka used Zero wheels so that's an easy fix. All in all I like the kit a lot, it looks delicate and to scale, unlike Airfix for example. I already built their A7M1 Reppu, so with the Kikka as a subject I didn't think too long when I came across this one.

Hi Marius! Thank you!
The kit is nice. Reminded me of an early nineties Italeri kit if I can say so. Engravings are a little bit shallow, more a short run kit but at any case buildable. Nice cockpit with 2 types of seats made of resin provided (at the end of their time in the Luftwaffe a Martin Baker seat was used). Fit was good, just a gap between fuselage and wings required some attention. The camera windows required some putty and sanding to make them blending into the fuselage. I tried to recover the glass shine by applying some AK Gauzy inside and outside. But some humidity from cleaning the model before painting came inside the fuselage, reacted with the Gauzy and the transparency was gone - my fault. So I painted them black in the end. Nice decals. In the end a very enjoyable build and the best way for a 72 scale RF-84 I think.

Thank you for the detailed answer!
I was thinking in the past of buying this resin kit, which had many positive reviews:
Republic RF-84F Thunderflash (PJ Production 721023, 1:72)
but for almost 40€ I thought it's a bit too pricy and I was looking for a classic injection kit. I might taken the Sword kit in consideration mabye.

Thank you Mirko! You are right, the RF-84 is not seen as a finished model very frequenttly. Even if you consider the widespread use of this recce plane. Lots of of nice schemes to choose from like Belgian, Greek, Dutch, U.S. of course...

Thank you Neil!
@ Oleg: I used small strips of beige colored decal. Available here: tl-modellbau.de/Streifen-schmal_1
I have cut them smaller by using a fresh scalpel blade.
Would be good to have a source for pink strips which could be used for Russian planes´ cockpit sealings.

While looking at your photos I was also asking myself how you make the canopies so perfectly. The beige decal strips are a great solution. Beautiful results.

Thanks guys for bringing the RF-84 up again 😀 Glad you like it!
Regarding the decal strips: sometimes I have my moments and things work well 😄 as planned! Took a long time to find such kind of colored decal. Dirty pink stripes would be good as well for Russian planes…
