Edouard CarrHey Villiers/Christoph - hope you enjoy the build and thanks for watching the progress. Thinking about a custom paint job on the second spitfire with reference to the album power slave of which Aces High is from. Have some home print decal sheets that I have been meaning to use for years so might try testing them out. Revell have been kind enough to send a second Eddie Sprue so will have him seated in both planes when completed.

They have been easy to print and super quick to detach from the backing compared to official decals. Interesting to play with but a note to the wise, figure the decals you want and their placement as transparent decals will only be visible on light colours. See my body art for an example!
You then have the issue of how to get round this, which I have yet to decide the best method. Thinking maybe a top coat then a second run through the printer!
Both white and transparent paper are hard to adhere to bumps on the surface without creating bubbles, think this might be A: thickness B:my poor application (more likely 😅).
I need to find some junk kits to do some proper testing before I next use them on a project I think 🤔

Good luck with it, sometimes double printing can off-set a little so make sure paper 100% straight.

Edouard CarrCalling this one done. I had an idea for the blue plane but didn't come off as I wanted so putting to one side as a in-between pick up. TBH it's almost completed going to try a grey wash and might leave it at that. I might come back to the idea but on a smaller 48/72 scale.
You gotta try things now and again and I think I will come back to the home transfers as they worked better than expected.
Hope you enjoyed the build all and now... On to the next project!

Matti ThomaesWell doesn't time fly. It's been months since I gave you guy's an update on my Jean Bart. I have been working on her, but only in short sessions. This gave me the impression that I was getting nowhere with this one. Then came along the Plastic & Steel show where I had the opportunity to work on her for two full days, and lo and behold she is close to getting finished. Just adding the last details know, than some weathering, clear coat and windows and clear parts and done.
Hopefully next update very soon…

Working on the parts of this kit can be considered bodily harm! The bright yellow hurts your eyes and you can't see any details or damaged areas that need work. I would have preferred a more common gray!

KennethHallo Frank, the set with lap belts only could be intended for the US Navy variant of the Stearman, the N2S. Until US entry in WW2, US Navy aircraft mostly did not have shoulder belts. I read this in a review of a 1/32 Vought Kingfisher while looking for seatbelts and wondering about the same thing for my 1/32 Revell/ICM N2S Stearman kit.

bughunterWelcome! Thanks Kenneth! That makes sense, as the kit offers also a yellow Navy plane with red stripes. Luckily my wife want it blue-yellow. All the pictures I found shows also shoulder belts, but that was mostly still flying machines and I guess the shoulder belts was added later.
I had already downloaded the ICM manual as an additional reference and looked at reviews because of an oddity on the upper wing. More on this later.
