Was going to do the Battle of Britain version of this kit but I'm temped to have a go at some winter white wash and the wasp is cooler than the shark mouth 😎

I also have Bf-110 from the Airfix, I will build an Italian night fighter. The sprues are the same, so I'm watching!

Cheers guys.
I'm have a go at riveting, but going freehand as at this scale using tape was taking so long. I also not sure how much they will stand out on finish kit, but with the wonky line in parts they will probably bee seen from mars 🤣

Cheers #Guy 👍
#Skyhiker I found the fit to be good, I had a very slight gap at the front but think that was as much to do with me and the fitting of the pit (not the clearest instructions there). Every thing else was fine and the canopy was a good fit, I did change order of build slightly with the tail section I glued the rear piece to the body first then added the tail (after I'd added the stabilisers/rudders) this made more sense than the instructions 😁

Only issue I have with this kit are the decals. While they look great and are in perfect register, they have a large amount of film edging and are both thick and delicate at the same time🤪
Having a hard time getting them to settle into the panel lines etc. I usually just need to use micro sol but even ultimate extra strong is not have much effect. Going to have to wait till I get some Tamiya fixer, strong and extra strong hopefully one of these will help 🤞

You should be ok with the medium one with Airfix decals,
I like a mix of Water in with the markfix...seems to keep the decal floating longer.
I did the teeth on my p40 this way.
If they started getting bit sicky...l would add bit more water....keep it floating.
Wouldn't like to do shark teeth with HB decals 🤔🤣.... The lightning ⚡ strike on my mig-15 just fell apart with hardly any working.
Good luck with it ..look forward to seeing 😃👍👍

Cheers for advice #Mr D. Afraid this set of decals were unaffected by all solutions but the mark fit super strong did have some effect. To make head way I found I needed to add the solution then after a few seconds apply hot air from a hairdryer to 'shrink wrap' the decal. These have to be the worst decals I've come across..
I recommend anyone doing this kit to source a set of decals rather than use those provided, they are not for beginners that's for sure. I hope the carrier film will disappear under a gloss coat but I didn't want to risk it so I've only applied the larger decals the smaller ones while add great detail if cartograf here they are 90% carrier film.

Why don't you just cut the carrier film away with a knife before applying them?

Hi Sy
That's ok .... I think the result will be fine after a clear coat, you come out of it without wrinkles, bubbles or tear's so it's a win, very smart n be sorted under a clear.👌👍👍

#Skyhiker that's idea but life's too short for the amount there is, the size of the decal that's left will look like small black dots everywhere (especially the fuselage rib numbers 🤪); would be ok in 48 but too much in 72. Also I'm probably going to much it all up when I apply the winter white wash 😆

Cheers folk for kind comments
The use of masking fluid has left too sharper mark contrast than I was looking for. I hope to try oils to soften the edges else I'll get the airbrush out again and go slow 😳

Finally back to it, I don't know where the days/weeks disappear to. As ever the final "bits" take as much time as the main build.
The nervous removal of the canopy masking revealed no concerns so on with the lumps and bumps and wires…

Dodge Viper and color bottles is correct. Also the tank parts: it is a FlakPz Gepard. This project was pure fun and my first kitbashing. I learned a lot about different materials, washing effects and my airbrush. Some of you may also detect a submarine.

Thanks Spanjaard. I'm making minor improvements to the set up as I use the space, but it's much more ergonomically laid out. I also raised the worktop level so that I'm not bending over as much as I used to, and that's much better for my back. Just make sure you have plenty of storage when you do yours. I've filled all the drawers and have still got stuff that needs a home.
The magnetic, under-shelf tool storage works very well so I'd recommend that.

That's a good name for the room Urban, although I'm not sure I would be classed as entirely sane.
Gordon: I wish mine was that neat and organised as well! The photos are before any plastic was mangled. I've added another photo on the end to give a more accurate image of what's it's like in use.

😄 (I assume that is supposed to represent laughing – it looks more like constipation to me).
Spanjaard: The ducting was one of my slightly better ideas. It doesn't get rid of the paint smells completely, but it's much better than it was. Incidentally the stuff I used is called 'Kair System 100 Rectangular'. I bought it from a well known South American river😉 and it was quite a reasonable price - £37 all in. The brackets are overpriced but I managed to do it with just one of them.

Very nice job Gorby, and considering your self-reported aversion to labor a laudable effort indeed. I envy the natural light (my cave is in the basement, so no cigar). Nice work on the tool storage and compressor mounting as well 👍

Thanks Alec. I had hoped those years of manual labour were behind me, it's not good for your health you know. The compressor mounting works well – the rubber shelf mounting and the rubber mat absorb quite a lot of the vibration, so it sounds much quieter.

And I disagree. Alcohol and model making are perfectly compatible, even your hands feel more firm, and steady 😄 😄 and if you mess things up you can blaim the licor and not your clumsiness or lack of tallent. I've a small fridge in my cave, só i know it hehe

Hi Rui, your cave just gets better, beer too 🍺🍺🍺🍺👍. I build to the left of the air brushes, it's small, but then I'm a short arse anyway 🤣 I intend to shelve the existing picture rails and the back wall which at the moment is piled up with tools, paint, nails, ladders and screws (Thee Wife, has got me painting the landing and the drop) I'll move the building over to the back wall as I will have natural light coming in. Come to think of it a fridge and Beer is not a bad Idea! 🤣👍🍺🤘🥸🤟🤣 Happy modelling mate.

My happy place is also a box room (and also my daughters room when she was young). My other half used to complain about the state of it so I stripped it all back and started again. Glad I did as it suits my needs perfectly now.

Obviously it's now descended into a bit of a tip again – or as I like to think, a lived in look. 🙂
Oh, I'm another fan of combining alcohol and modelling. Maybe that explains my modelling. 😄

There are plans afoot for a redesign, per the shelving rip up the carpet and strip back the floor so I may have an even surface for my turntable.
