Thanks for all the likes and comments, this was a bit of an experiment for me as I've just returned to the hobby after many years away. I wanted to try the bare metal look as I have a number of kits in my stash that use that finish. The paints I used were Tamiya gloss black as the primer and then SMS Super Silver over that with a light final SMS Super Gloss coat. I was really impressed with the finish from the Super Silver, my memories of past metal paints were that they were grainy and didn't look real, but this stuff was great. I also masked off some panels and used a lighter primer of about 1:1 gloss white and black. This gave a nice different tone of metal to some areas...you can see it in the wing panels in the pics. This kit was pretty challenging as I'm still learning, but I was happy with the result.
