F/A-18F Super Hornet
Bu.No 166621
VFA-103 Jolly Rogers
USS Dwight D. Eisenhower 2014
This started off as my second attempt to build a model for my local IPMS competition, after I realized that my VFA-31 hornet had too many flaws to place. However I ended up with some pretty severe fit issues when putting the fuselage halves together, so I shelved it and started on a new kit - which would go on to get 2nd place.
Afterwards i returned to this model and took a much more laid back approach with it, using only parts from the kit. The only aftermarket used was the DXM decal sheet.
