Thanks Mr D. You can't go wrong with a Tamiya, at least in terms of fit. Sometimes their details get simplified and supposedly a few kits have accuracy issues, but for assembly they are great. Had to do this one after the A-20G since it was so painfully fussy to fit together. This is a nice change!

I thought about punching out each instrument individually but it's so small it would have driven me mad. Fortunately, the decal is sized perfectly to the panel so if you align it carefully, it turns out fine.

This kit doesn't specifically say it, but you can do both open and closed engine panel. Since the engine fits with pins and poly caps, you can change them out, which I intend to do. It's a nice touch and the kit is fairly cheap. Pick one up if you haven't already.

Thanks Doubtingmango. 👍 I guess "low effort" is relative, lol. I really am trying to not have things on the "shelf of doom" and complete a kit before I start another, but the point at which I say "good enuf" and move on is a moving target some days...

I get it John. I still remember the first time I forced myself to use EVERY piece of photo etch from an Eduard detail kit. I now look at the detail kits as "suggested" modifications…

Qwertzel, bughunter has it exactly right, that is what I did. Worked perfectly. For the rear doors, I masked the roof and floor parts with tape, then used the foam. Side doors, just a square piece of foam a little oversize as bughunter suggests. For the yellow, white primer can work but believe it or not, pink is also a good color for priming yellow areas.

I saw your comment on the scary PE parts and CA glue ruining your paint job. I use this glue now for my PE parts. OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Worth its weight in Gold!

Paul, thank you for the tip. I'll take a look at the MIG product. I've been using Testor's "clear parts cement and window maker" with decent results but always looking for something better.

Hi Paul and Anthony, thank you! I appreciate your comments. I certainly learned that roundels are a lot easier to paint than wrestle their decals over irregular surfaces.
