So the kit is not based on this one:F-104G Starfighter "Tiger Meet" (Revell 04668, 1:48)
I cant figure out why Revell releases such bad kits when they have good molds in stock...

Nicely done Guus, have to say the paint job on that box art Holger's posted intrigues me, but I've never been a fan of Revell kits, that's just my own personal taste though. Love their Contacta glue and other accessories though!!!...

Kit 04668 is the old Monogram kit, Revell took over Monogram some years ago and probably want to make the best of the moulds.
Kit 04552 was a re-issue of the excellent Hasegawa kit at a much more realistic price.

Why? the answer is quite simple. This Mold costs nothing, it´s there. For the Hasegawa Mold they have too pay a fee or they have too pay for the quantity of kit they have booked.

Hi Guus,
you made a good paintjob and the entire model is clean built! The weathering is ok!
The Recce Pod is a nice add on!
Well done!

Album info
The 1/48 Revell re-pop of the Hasegawa kit.
Decals are by Sky Models, the pilot figure is a PJ Productions resin figure.
Recce pod is by DACO.
This aircraft is a F-104G masquerading as a RF-104G. It was one of the aircraft not being modified to "S" standard and rewired for the Orpheus reconnaissance pod.
The gun was removed and an additional fuel cell installed in the gun bay to compensate for the additional drag caused by the Orpheus pod.
