Oh, this is so cool! Cool subject and masterfully built, painted and weathered! 👍

Quick question; how did you fabricate that broom on the headlight brush guard? That looks really realistic!

Thanks Patrick!
The broom is 3d-printed, a guy here in Sweden that prints a lot of these small useful things. I once did one from scratch (for my Centurion tank) and it almost made me crazy…
It's common practice here in Sweden to use these brooms on APC/IFV and tanks to get rid of the worst of the mud and dirt before climbing down the hole.
Thanks Patrick!

Thanks Andreas!
I've seen those brooms a lot on modern Scandinavian vehicles and I like to recreate those cool details on a couple of future Scandinavian projects as well. Good to know it's a 3D print. I might find something similar as well somewhere instead of joining you getting crazy doing some scratchbuilding myself. 🤪
Thanks Andreas!

Great! I think, this is the first time i ever saw this Tank as a model built up! Only knew it from an old card game.

Patrick - the creator of this is called SSR Models, don't know if and where the products are sold outside Sweden. The store I bought from is model-craft.se/, don't know if the do international shipping but you could always ask them.

They are something of an odd bird, but they were in service from mid seventies to 2002.

Moritz used a convincing technique to create a broom in 35 on one of his tank builds too:
Quote:
@Michael it is a down-sanded toothpick and a bit of balsawood for the handle. Then I painted the top of a brush with red color, added superglue to the balsawood and fixed the bristles before I cut them from the brush in the required length

Thanks Spanjaard!
Let's just pretend it was a dry and hot day so the broom wasn't used 😁
