Sukhoi Su-30SM
The shoulders for the Canards were done with plastic card...
...which was sanded to shape. Using super glue as filler I should have no problems with rescribing...
On the lower side the wings were reinforced with steel wire to keep them straight.
On the lower side I tried to follow the panel lines when adding the shoulders to keep as much details as possible.
A new homemade canopy was added (original one is too narrow).
The rear part of the cockpit was modified according to photos...
...and the chord of the rudders was increased with plastic card. Below you can see the new IPs. I removed all raised detail and added new MFDs (the IPs are similar to the new Su-35S).
The canards were again carved from plastic sheet and will be attached to the airframe with small pins.
Finally, I couldn't resist to put it all together to see how it looks assembled...

Thanks for stopping by guys. I will soon add my other Flankers to my projects and since I will work on them in parallel the updates should come slowly but steadily 🙂

Album info
This is the second Academy Flanker (out of 4) I have on the bench right now. The Su-30SM is basically a "russianized" Su-30MKI and will be used as trainers for the Su-35S (Air Force) and in the strike-attack role (Navy), replacing the Su-24.
