well Frank, the kit was easy to build, it's an oldie, but goodie! Lots of cleaning up to do, but its such a nice model, just had to build it!

Fantastic, Peter! So many details - spoiled gasoline on the tank, the letter of the soldier, the bucket at the rear. The weathering come out good! I like it! 👍 👍

..Pretty cool Peter! I really like the overall idea and the details are great. I?m taking a hard look at your ground work there; I?ve got a Nashorn sitting on an undeveloped base and your award winning build is giving me some inspiration regarding my build. Thanks for the post!

i've seen you Nashorn , @james johnson, it looks great, and deserves a nice base!

..Thanks Peter!, I just picked up a surfacing compound (Acrylic Gesso) and have been looking at ways of playing with it. The first thing I?m going to do with it is use it to sort of prime the hull behind the wheels of a JS 2 that I?m currently building. This will serve as a medium on which the pigments that want to apply shall be built upon??.
Then, for the Nashorn base, I?m thinking of laying down some small stones and sort of painting them with the surface primer. The primer will then (in theory) act as a glue and as a nice canvas for airbrushing???..sound plausible?
Any base work tips would be appreciated!
Keep up the good work!

Well James, that sounds plausible, but if the primer doesn't 'stick'
you could always use Woodglue thinned with water later,
it will dry completely transparent, and you could paint it afterwards.

Thanks again Peter, so here's the plan...the surface primer is going on the JS 2 [img1]
The diluted wood glue will be used for the base of the Nashorn; this is the exact kind of advice I'm looking for!
