The box is packed full, and very sturdy

In addition to the regular parts, there is photoetch, and window masks included

The base is really amazing detailed, one of the reasons I wanted to do this kit. Will be a difficult paint job, though.

First step is building the interior salon, shown here dry fitted

The wife said a guy like Nemo would have a red leather couch, so I repainted it

It's a shame all that detail gets boxed up in the final build. Now I know why people like to light this kit

I'll be the first to admit this project is going to be a bit of stretch for me. There are a number of techniques I'll need to master, and new skills I'll need to acquire if I'm going to complete this one. It is definitely a bit outside my comfort zone, but I figured I was up for a challenge this summer. This will be my first project using photo-etched parts, as well as the first one to require more complex and detailed airbrush work.

Good news Johnny! I'm tuned in.
P.S. I have built the model the last year also and took a lot of fun! Don't hesitate to ask, maybe I can help. Bernhard

Thanks Bernhard, I appreciate the offer for assistance. I'm sure I'll be sending you some messages as I go through it. I took a look at your build, it looks really good, especially the base!

I've been swamped with lots of other projects, but I'm still plugging away on this whenever possible. Interior is progressing, albeit slowly. Next step I need to paint all the individual books, and then wash the side pieces to match the floor

Repainted the couch from blue to red, since my wife insisted Nemo is the kind of guy who owns a red leather couch. I think it was the right call.

I'm back. Been away from my workbench for the past several weeks, but I finally got back to it. Window masking is in progress.

That's worth some 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍.
I like, what I see. Hopefully some of the interior can be seen through the windows...

She's just about done. Perhaps some weathering rust still to be added, haven't decided yet.
