John CoverleyThank you both for your comments. According to the Eagle Strike decal information the Blue Nose P-51B's were stationed at Bodney in Norfolk in 1944. The decal sheet IP4810 give you a choice of 3 blue nose Mustangs with the one I chose having the invasion stripes on.

Phil Marcheseyes...the B Series were very common in June. The factory natural metal finish came about roughly with the new year and B and C production carried through into 1944. The lag time to theater was typically 3 to 6 weeks and clearing theater depots added time too.

John CoverleyThanks everyone for your comments. I thought I would have a play around with different shades of Alclad to break up the natural metal bits. I also tried some oil paint weathering on the staff car.

Charles CastellWow... one of my favorite kits of all time, and so very nicely done. Natural metal finishes are hard to pull off [at least for me!] but yours is lacking nothing. Well done!
