Very nice and inspiring East Indiaman! I most like the rigging, very nice and clean.
@Martien, I have been there twice. Still I have been aboard I could not imagine what the sailors feel and how they lived on this small and cramped ship on their route to India!
Sadly they make no progress with De Zeven Provincien.

Thanks for the kind words mates!
@Martien, yes I've been to Lelystad. I was a sponsor of the project, so I visited the real Batavia a lot (for free 🙂)
@Christian, sadly there are no funds for the build of the 7 provinciën available anymore 🙁
And actually the Batavia never reached Indonesia, she ran at a reef at her maiden voyage. What happened on that ship and after she run on the reef is proper "hollywood material"

And Christian, this book will give you an idea of life on an East India "retourschip". The novel is based on the original account of the VOC "officer" on board of the Batavia.

You can still get to see the real one at museum.wa.gov.au/museums/shipwrecks ... and read about it's history & discovery in harpercollins.com.au..ias-bloodiest-mutiny
Can anybody tell Fremantle is my 'home' town ?!!?
BTW Kees your work is simply exquisite. Cheers
