I enjoyed my last Academy model at this scale so much I decided to make another. Initially daunting with many tiny pieces, this went together with few problems. Still a long way to go however. I dont have much experience painting vehicles with a cab. I am still undecided how to proceed with painting.

Thanks James, so far so good with mine. A little bit more complex than I'm used to with the various sub-assemblies, but I'm happy enough so far. I still didn't get started on the cab but that will be make or break time I think. Italeri kits can be a bit of a headache in my limited experience. Yours is looking good though.

Sub-assemblies fitted to chassis and not too bad either. Now I'm thinking about how to proceed with weathering. I'm looking for a heavy mud effect, but I don't want to go too overboard.

Working on weathering based on a photo of a very muddy looking HEMTT in Bosnia.

Finished at last. A very slow build (7 months!) but enjoyable. I will build more Academy kits.

Nice result Kevin 👍 I might take a leaf out of your book of techniques and build and paint mine in sub-assemblies like you do. Looks like it is much easier to get neat coverage that way.
