Dash RendarTreehugger: Well, the more glossy, the better you can blend the oils do stuff like streaks, or even remove it. If you try oils on a very flat surface, it's very hard to clean up mistakes and it doesn't blend as easy. A flat surface though, is better for stippling (like perhaps rust or moss) imho.

Michał KarczewskiHello Treehugger. You're right, I use oil paints. So after painting and decals, I apply a gloss varnish. After that I use oil wash and wipe it off. The next step is to matt the varnish and use it as a base for further aging with oils.
