The kit looks really horrible! But you made a great plane of it!

I guess such projects can be fun, once in a long while. 🙂 I have 50 gun ports to be reshaped on a plastic wooden frigate kit in 1:200 scale (Acheron), luckily not much left to do.
I wonder how hard/easy it would be to create vacuum canopies. I suspect that the clear parts in older kits might be a good candidate for creating a new shape by simply laying the plastic over it in a vacuum machine (or however it works), and maybe filling the insides to create a stable and solid base.

Thank you all! Your compliments made it all worthwhile! I took a full 9 months to complete this kit because I kept getting tired and frustrated and needed to set it aside for periods of time. I'm glad all modelling is not like this.

Sometimes you have to make huge sacrifices to get something you really want. The effort was worth it. Very good work. Congrats!

This is the most terribly-manufactured kit I have ever attempted to build. Everything about it was horrible. The quality of the poly was awful, none of the parts fit properly, everything was covered in flash and surfaces were pitted or warped. On top of all that, the kit cost US$100+. If I hadn't really wanted the Coronado in my collection, and if my wife hadn't given it to me as a gift, I would have tossed it out.
