Interesting. I have a similar project going on. Did you create chipped paint, or did you paint on the "chipped paint"? Anyway, looks nice.

I painted the base colour. Then I sprayed Vallejo chipping medium. After that I sprayed the whole model with white. Finally I scratched it with a wet brush and a toothpick.

Q: After airbrushing on the white layer, how long did you wait before you added water and started scratching the paint?
I ordered two bottles of this just now. I thought I had some already, but I think it might have been some tiny bottle perhaps and not the larger Vallejo 76550 bottle.

You can start scratching once the paint is touch dry, which could be minutes.
Preferably apply last paint in thin layers in order to shorten drying time.
Take note that the longer you wait to do the scratching you'll need more pressure to remove paint.
