Very nice build John! Its amazing how many sub types the Type IX had. How is the kit?

I was inspired to build this after reading the book "Operation Drumbeat". I am a former US Navy Submariner, retired 20 years ago. Reading about Reinhard Hardegen and his life is just amazing. He just passed away about a year ago, at the age of 105. Look him up on the Web.
I enjoyed the kit, went together very well, fit was very good, just a little filler here and there, nothing major. I did't like the thickness of some of the parts. The periscopes main lengths were replaced with styrene rod, I kept the tops because they were tapered. The propellers had to be carefully sanded down to scale thickness.
Thanks for your comments.
