The glass nose contains a frame which supports the 20mm cannon. Valom gives you a PE frame. I want it 3D because the frame is made of tubes. In comes Evergreen!

And it looks a lot better

Colors are on! Hataka C074, C087 and C246. All mixed with 20% white.I thought the beige color was too sandy, so I filtered with light gray untill I was satisfied.

The orange war triangels are on. This wraps up the general painting. The only decals for the plane are aircraft registration numbers (855), which are next.

Thanks all! The kit is a bit rough around the edges and where things are visible it has to be right. So I added some structure on the inside behind the big glass nose and tail gun position. Next step is adjust the angle between the fuselage axis and the wing root. On this plane it is a bit of work, but do-able.

Neat job on the interior! I agree that your Evergreen tube frames look far better than the PE!

My heart gets pumping from all that beautiful stuff in picture 13: Calipers, Evergreen stock, sharp blades, tweezers and Tamiya Extra Thin! With that on the workbench and some good music in the background it makes for a great model building night! 😄

Thanks for the compliments, and yes, I like a good piece of music during my builds!

Thnx, Daniel. Only 16 were built, so it is almost as rare as a prototype. I'm glad that there are still companies willing to put such kits on the market.

I can see in your albums you're a fan of the exotic too. Great subjects and beautiful builds!

Way to go! I ereally like how you added a lot of value on a simple kit.

That's what I like best. A solid base for some detailing to have fun with. I'm much more a builder than I am a painter.

Those pre-war Dutch colors are always a reason for debates, but I think you nailed the look exactly! Great build and good color balance!

Thanks Patrick. I usually ignore the most of those discussions. As long as it looks right... There is always a degree of fading or weathering so there is no truth, according to me.

How great have been your sins that you have to atone with this kit? 😉
I would open the box and quit.
Great job you are doing with this base.

Beautifull build and superb painting.
Great result on a kit that is quite a hand full to build.
I had made a start on mine, but it is sitting on the shelf...

Great piece of work and a very nice end result.
My example is still burried way down my stash. 🙂

Thanks all! For the mates who have this one in the stash: It's not that bad a kit. It's not for the beginner but if you just start on it, you can get a nice result. And you don't have to detail the inside like I did, because hardly anything is visible.
