Fw 190-D progress
Cockpit finished. This is the Profipack and I chose to use the PE. I must say I'm a bit disappointed by the detail. It is very flat. I would recommend painting or using the decals instead. The seatbelts are fine, though.
The part of the engine that can be seen through the wheel bay and the gun bay is very detailed. I like it! 🙂
All the small parts painted and weathered. I made a little modification to be able to mount either the bomb or the extra tank.
The wing assembly in the picture is a mix up. It is from the Ta 152 that I'm building in parallel. 😉

The Dora is assembled and the windscreen attached.
Canopy and gun compartment cover are glued with PVA glue to the fuselage.
Canopy has been masked off in preparation for paint.
Inner paint is applied. I've also painted the silver under the gun compartment cover and masked it off.
Result after black base and marbling with Tamiya XF-1 and XF-2.
Starting to mask and paint the main camoflage.
According to the manual the plane underwent an engine change. That is the reason for the RLM83 paint in the front.
Masking and painting the camoflage for the under side.
Masking for the upper camoflage.
Masking for the yellow-white bands for JG 2. Firstly a white base.
Masking for the yellow bands.
Happy with the result 🙂
I chose to mask and paint the markings. Starting with the top side of the wing.
Nice! 🙂
Side markings. I chose to mask them separately as it is easier to line them up.
Happy with the result! 🙂
Next step is to add a clear gloss layer before applying the rest of the decals and stencils.
The Dora is finished! 🙂
The cowl over the gun bay is a little loose as I chose to make it possible to open it and look inside.
I had a bit of a mishap when applying the gloss after putting on the stencils. The clutter behind the wing is a result of the stencil being blown off and misplaced when spraying the gloss.. 🙁
Comparison with the Ta-152C.

This one is a bit more challenging then the HobbyBoss Ta-152 I think! Good luck mate 👍

After assembly, the Dora is now in the same state as the other two fw's. The marbling is quite a taxing job, and to do three planes in a row is taking its toll. I'm glad it's over 🙂.

Some more progress on the 190D. Main camoflage and markings are finished. I chose to mask and paint the markings instead of using the decals.

Thanks Alan and James! 🙂
@Alan, I scanned the decal sheet and created a vector drawing from it that i cut out in my Cameo cutting machine.
