"Fighting I"
Here we go again
I'm certainly not a fan of two piece flight deck. It would be better in one piece like long hull Essex kits.
Because I have limited time before moving to campus, I want to finish it as soon as possible so, no hangar painting nor detailing.
Masked for hull plating
After applying Mr Surfacer 1000
Result is meh and needs to be sanded a little
Added some railing and remaining deck details
Looks like Maya liked Intrepid too hehe
#%!*^!! when I got home, that's the view I see... No one accepts the guilt and I'm expected to accept the fact that this ship has moved from the shelf to the ground, to the side of my bed by strange powers (the distance is about 2 meters..) I'm totally pissed of that all the sanding and putty work I have done to full hull and now there is a f***ing gap which goes on through the half of the hull on both sides. I would try to be positive if there wasn't hull plating but now it's impossible to fix this withouf destroying the plating. I'm done with this model for now.

Hi, I was wondering if you ever went back to that kit, the repair wouldn't be that hard, with a small clamp, almost close the gap, put liquid cement, close the gap, you can put masking tape to putty and sand locally. That's too bad it was almost finished, does Maya knew anything about that incident? I just finished the CV8 Hornet. Good continuation.

Hi Yves, so far I didn't come back to this build mainly because I would need to do panel lines again after fixing the gap which took a lot of my time doing masking and I will have to go through this again. Even though she has a Japanese namesake, Maya is very respectful to my models even if they are American vessels and she is mainly interested in sleeping their box as I progress with the build and empty it. Currently I'm onboard but when I go back home maybe I would give it another shot in a sea base to cover this damage. I would love to see your builds as well.
