Bedford QLD IBG
IBG provides a nice base kit of this iconic british world war II truck. Some details are a bit coarse and the plastic is a bit soft, but none of this is a game changer.
At a modelling fare I saw this conversion kit. It was sold to me as kind of a prototype. It looked convincing to me and has not let me down. I cannot find it on the net but tank model in Poland had a conversion set in stock which looks pretty much like mine. It was designed bei MK72 and I think it might have been the guy who sold me the kit. Anyway. The parts are great and correct and improve wheels, tank, storage bins and front considerably. So if you can get holt of one, grab it.
not particularly designed for the QLD in particular Haulers QLR PE set nevertheless provided some nice pieces I want to add to this little bugger.
The chassis assembled and base painted.
Here together with the cabin which has been improved by selfmade fenders from thick aluminum instead of the rather hefty plastic ones.
The spare wheel support is improved significantly by the PE parts and the resin fuel tank as the one from the kit has huge sink marks.
The British Tommy by Royal Model (far right) and CMKs British Soldiers WW II are prepared to receive some paint. They will accompany the QLD.
Knowing now how I want to present this truck I tucked it from the self of shame, blew off the dust and slapped everything together to boost my newfound motivation
So far just an idea to crowd the cargo bed.
Apart from the kits wheels the equipment is taken from BlackDogs Britisch WWII equipment set.
Started painting the three british infantry men.
