Monogram's ancient 1/48 scale P-47 Thunderbolt. I legitimately have been working on this model since November as a gift for a family member. It's nice to have finally finished and delivered it on Memorial Day.
I haven't built a plane model in decades, so there was a lot to re-learn. It's not a super accurate kit nor fun to build, but it will make a nice display for his office. This kit is straight out of the box, including the terrible decals. It's painted in Tamiya and Vallejo Air acrylics. "The Turtle" and "No. 10" slogans are hand painted. Weathering was done with a mixture of GW acrylic and AMMO enamel washes.
