Unboxed
Washed parts
Painted the base dark metal color on the tracks with Testors Metallizer, and sealed.
Main assembly completed
Assembled and gaps filled. I didn't do a good job documenting the interior! It was fairly basic but also accurate as far as I can remember. I'm going to build this with the rear hatch open so will try to get a better picture on completion.

M113A3 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC)
Operator: US Army 4th Infantry Division
Location: Fort Carson, CO (USA)
Timeframe: 1991-1993
Personal Interest:
During my tour at Ft. Carson, Headquarters companies of the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) operated the venerable M113A3 armored personnel carrier (APC) as a command vehicle. I would typically deliver weather data to mission planners in a HQ M113A3. Although 4th Infantry did not deploy for Operation Desert Storm, the armor was nonetheless painted desert sand in case rapid deployment became necessary. M113A3 APCs were frequently operated on the Fort Carson reservation and the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site for exercises.
