Thanks Greg a complement indeed coming from you. Love your TinTin works and other dioramas. I tend to not do bases but felt this one needed it. I also just purchased some water effect by Mig so thought It would be rude not to try it out!😅

Ha! Thanks Edouard. Coincidentally, my Bounty project is also being used as a stand-in for a Tintin project (The Secret of the Unicorn (Rackham's Pirate Ship) | Album by strobez (1:72)), but I got stalled out trying to convert the bulwarks. Seeing you in action gets the ideas flowing again. 🙂
I've never tried to make any water other than with silicone (or, well, clear resin covered with silicone) so I'm curious how easy the Mig option was to apply.

Hey Greg Realised I haven't really covered how I made the base. Started with some foam insulation that I had picked up, cutting a rough depth of the hull. Groved it out to give some movement and airbrush different depth of blue including Vallejo ocean metallic for the shimmer. The top was given a coat of the mig which is like a resin paste I would guess. It can be loaded on in splodges and will be similar to silicone. Final touch added cotton wool for the splash which is a first for me.
I have also used tissue paper in the past with glue which works well then coated with Vallejo still water to harden. My problem is I don't have patience so end up not allowing things to dry properly and get different results each time 😅
Also this guy does some amazing things for model railway. Prepare to get lost in his channel Youtube Video

Hey Greg, I have also just uploaded another album showing the different effects I have achieved the best so far being the battleship using the technique from the video (or at least the first half and using Vallejo still water instead of varnish.
