The next project is another Kursk subject in the form of the Tamiya Panther D. The plan is depict one of the kit profiles that was part of the Kursk campaign.
The lower hull and suspension are complete. I added some weld beads to areas where armor plating sections meet in the front and rear of the vehicle.

Thanks Mates. Time to post some updates. I've added photos of the wheels. No issues during the build. I installed the rubber band track to see how it looks.

I've also completed building the Tamiya individual link tracks. The build process is pretty straightforward and they fit well and look good. The only issue is that each link has multiple ejection pin marks that need to be dealt with. So it's a little extra sanding work but they look good and work well in the end. I used 86 links per side. Tamiya recommends 85 links but I thought it was a little tight. Progress continues. Thanks for looking.

The upper hull interior is complete and I've buttoned up the hull. The engine fans need to be painted prior to closing up the hull since they are visible from above the engine deck. I also painted the interior primer red, nato black and ivory in the appropriate locations in case anything is visible from outside. Continuing on. Thanks for looking.

Completed the components on the rear deck and upper hull including tools, spare track brackets, and schurzen. The hull is mostly wrapped up now.

@Rui - I replaced the kit bracket, which was very thick and heavy looking, with thinner plastic so it looks more to scale.

Construction is now complete. I've uploaded a new batch of photos that show the turret construction, scratch building the interior of the cupola, the model with construction finished and the crew. Painting is next. Thanks for looking.

Priming and main painting is now complete. A coat of Mr. Primer Surfacer 1000 was first, followed by AKRC RAL8012. Then two coats of AK worn affects fluid, followed by XF-60 and XF-88 Dark yellow. XF-89 Dark Green 2 and XF-64 were used for the green and brown camo. Thanks for looking.

Very very nice work. Did you use the rubber tracks then in the end? If so, they look brilliant.

Thanks Matt - I ended up using the individual link tracks and am happy how they came out. Thanks again.
