RobCool Look mit den LEDs. Ich überlege schon lange, mir dieses Modell bei eBay zu schießen. Geht teilweise für viel Geld über den Tisch. Deines sieht an der Seite etwas verzogen aus. Da bin ich direkt noch unsicherer. Wahrscheinlich wird es dann doch wohl irgendwann die 1/72 Bandai Version

Markus Helmers@Rob: hab da ne 10er auf Kleinanzeigen für bezahlt. Der Bandai ist nochmal ein ganzes Stück kleiner, und dieser ist echt schön nicht groß. Den Flügel hätte man mit heißem Wasser sicher noch richten können, hab es allerdings erst bemerkt als schon Farbe drauf war.

Markus HelmersFor now it's just a placeholder. The whole thing is already getting a bit crowded so not sure how well multiple birds would fit, hence the flamethrower idea. But that would be more difficult to light I guess. Will need to experiment a bit.

Markus HelmersSo, as of now I'm leaning more towards the flamethrower solution. The whistling birds only leave a very thin smoke trail with glowing tips. However the wires holding this would also have to be very thin yet be able to hold the fiber optics in place. Thin fibers don't carry a lot of light. This is especially true if you have to roughen the ends to allow for a bit of side glow while being wrapped in cotton. There's practically no light left unless the room is completely dark. Not exactly what I had in mind. Will have to study some YT vids of some of the modeling wizards that do explosions. Any recommendations welcome!

Markus Helmers@CaptGPF yes, 4 SMDs, one per engine. Bandai has these clear parts that go in there, you need to carefully drill a hole in the connector pin and put the SMD in there. Cable management is the absolute horror on this one though. I killed at least 10 lights closing that sucker up. There's zero space inside.

CaptGPFLOL! Yeah, Bandais assemble nice - but they don't leave much space in their kits for lighting!
