Awesome mate 👍 good work for a first model. But what the hell was that with the newspaper strips in the cooking pot 😄😄

We all started somewhere?
There's actually many tricks, however, it's better to learn from your mistakes, than to sit and watch. Scalemates is fantastic, for picking up tricks and tips. YouTube is excellent for watching videos and "How to" do it videos. But, simple items, like wood glue, for attaching clear parts, thinner specific to your paint, and a decent set of brushes, with varying size bristles, will improve your model. It's the tools we use, that helps us. However, it's the passion, that drives us!
Congratulations on your first album. I look forward to watching your progress 👍

Thank you all for friendly feedback. Hopefully I've learned from my mistakes, so now I'm ready to make new ones 😉 It definitely helped to find this Scalemates site, check out albums here and watch on YouTube. Many great ideas and solutions. And friendlier than Facebook...

@Alexander I tried building a bag I used for books and stuff in school using this method:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papier-m%C3%A2ch%C3%A9
Made a lot of mess in the kitchen 🤣 and couldn't fit in the car. A friend with 3D-printer promised to help with better solutions next time

Got ya👍
I genuinely burst out laughing as between the pictures of the model there was a pot with newspaper strips cooking in it 😄😄 good comedic effect

yngvenett, I took am in many groups on Facebook. Unfortunately, that platform is not, what it used to be 🙁
I made many friends there, and there's some excellent modellers there, but it's full of keyboard warriors.
Here on Scalemates, you are surrounded by modellers, who have skills and enthusiasm, that's leaked into a passion. We're serious about our hobby, but we can still have a laugh. We offer ideas, hints, tips, solutions, and sometimes, even a bit of nostalgia? It's a good place to be! However, you're going to need a nickname, because I'm buggered if I can pronounce your name? 😛

Nice work. Don't forget that any loose oil drums or boxes would probably fall off when a real tank moves, so they would most like be strapped down.

I would add straps but i dont have any polystyrene nor the precision to paint them. And on this Sherman in particular it's in place, sniping tigers and any other IFVs so i can imagine it wont be moving much. Though maybe ill try painting straps on the oil drum later.

you can take the the metal that covers wine bottles (tin?), cut it with scissors, and paint it in any color. or even paint it and then cut in thin stripes. serves really good for this kind of applications. it is possible to buy that kind of material. but if there is any bottle of wine being open at home, you have it for free.... another material that can be used is thin aluminium. Nesquick used to have a thin layer alumium under the lid of their cans for example. pretty useful stuff
a can of cola or similar drinks can be also cut with any scissors, but is is stronger than the other two i mentioned, so it may not be the best for those stripes. but you have some waiting to be used at home for sure. just be careful with your fingers, this stuff can be quite sharp 😉

If you have any masking tape in works well as straps if you cut narrow strips.

1 - would be nice if there was an easy way to indicate that a particular boxing contained multiple copies of the same kit (as opposed to multiple different kits). Might need some fine-tuning, as a particular box might contain 2 different kits but both are the same subject -- so I guess I'm asking for the ability to select the same subject multiple times in the "multi-topic" option.
2 - there are an increasing number of "overtrees" or "plastic only" releases from a few different manufacturers, would be handy to be able to mark them explicitly as such in the "origin" field, since "new parts" isn't really accurate!
