Thanks mates! I used the colours straight out of the jar, with lighter US od freckles over the lighter UK od.

I have three of those kits in the stash waiting for a triple build, so I will follow with great interest. You nailed the colors pretty much perfect. It's quite an elusive greenish brown that looks different on each photo, and not easy to mix yourself. BTW, did you have problems getting the nose weights in place?

Well, it's not too roomy. I used material for tyre balancing in nose and behind the cockpit bulkhead, appr. 15g.

The kit wasn't bad at all. Ok, it is not comparable to Special Hobby's recent releases, but also a big improvement over their first short run kits more than twenty years ago. It has no locator pins, panel lines are quite good, fit was almost uneventful. Instructions are excellent and you get a small pe fret with most useful parts. I also used MPM's pe parts, which are superb, but a little too bright with the green interior colour. So I had to darken these parts with washes, used IJN interior green from Tamiya and darkened the whole cockpit with corresponding intensity. Still a little too bright, but - scale effect considered - ok. The real downside of the kit are the decals, which are almost translucent. Decide for yourself, if you can live with them . Well, now I have to. 🙂

Got to your stash.
The item you want to sell, click the '+' to the right of that entry.
Click 'move'. Don't worry that it's connected to the bin symbol, it won't delete it.
That will show a number of options in green boxes of which the last one is 'For sale'.
I don't want to go any further than that as I don't want to sell anything. If you need help from that step someone else will have to step in.

After that you press 'return' and then again on the '+'. Now it will show you some options like i. e. the 'price'-button. By clicking you can set a price, change the currency you wanna trade with and so on.

My two cents on selling on Scalemates: I prefer ebay. Here I encountered much less interest in what I had to offer. On ebay most of the things sold on first presentation.

Welcome Dutch! This build is turning into a slog. Clamps and super-glue "force-holds" galore. Luckily it is a tiny plane so I'm nearly done already, just completing all the seam sanding.

Working on the cowl. I had to use 2-part epoxy clay to fill a large gap on the bottom of the cowl that was created by making the cowl fit straight & level.

Nathan, quick question. Why not just spray the first color overall, then mask only the subsequent colors? Saves at least one step, I should think. Carry on. I am enjoying the show.

In this case I just got a little too happy masking. I even decided against my usual preshade since this plane's paint looks really new in all the pictures.

Thanks Dutch! Today I masked off the areas for the gloss black. The tan colored areas are quite small, but they're everywhere. Tamiya tape stock is going up!!

Well my gloss black was solidified, so flat black will have to do. Hopefully it will all even out when the clear is applied

Well that was a whole bunch of masking for some very tiny pixels… I also added a coat of Future to help with the panel lining effort to come.

Today has seen the underside color selected and applied (Tamiya X-14 Sky Blue) along with masking/painting the cowl colors using Steel & Red.

What are you using to do the panel lines?

I'm using both AK & Mig panel wash. For the bottom I used Grey-Blue and for the top I haven't decided whether I'll use a dark brown or black wash. Of course for the black areas I'll use the Stone Grey wash which I think is Mig.
