Hi Edouard👋😀👍.
Yes l just get cheap ones of eBay, the do different sizes, you can pull ends n spring out for barrel look, or file ends last to have a recoil cannon look.
The gun turret nearly there now....lots of sanding n filling low spot.
Thanks for looking in on build.👍👍

Hi Zbynek 👋🙂👍.
Thanks for your interest. Nice to know you had it too, l built X3 the Tu airliner and the bomber. But this was my favourite as l liked the shape and that it had floats n guns.
Got part of tail on this evening.
Keep looking in for updates 😃👍👍

Good to have you along Guy 👋😃.
Bit of fine sanding n tidying to do next then look at getting an engine effect in cowling area.
I replaced side vent for smaller one now, checked photos... and l made it way to big.
Catch you on the next steps.

Hey Mr D whats the Gorilla Glue like? Is it a clear PVA or a resin Super Glue Type? Do you use it just for clear bits or as n all purpose? Thanks in advance E.

Hi, it dries 100% clear but is slow.. to air dry ..so leave overnight.
But it's worth it as very strong. And is very neutral on paint and clear parts.
It's almost like an air drying epoxy, not harsh like super glue or poli ...very safe.
I only use it on clear stuff as it's stronger than PVA but not good for general building.. l do use it to fill gaps sometimes.

Don't think I'd trust those decals. The red stars are easy enough to replace or paint on, the bort numbers might be more of a challenge.

Mr D ... 🙂 I like too to see, how much progress my skills during the last 10 years did. Good for me is, that I own most of my model kits since I was a kid. My first plane, car and truck are still in my shelf or boxes.
Because I stumbled somehow over your wip, I checked the history of the kit. It is rally unbelievble, that those engine openings are on the bottom of the motors. Amazing. I wouldn't notice that without your hint.

Cannot wait to see the result. Your work reminds me of my first kit, it was a Victor bomber by Matchbox (They had a JV factory in Shanghai at that time). But hard find it in the market now.

Hi Lorraine 👋.
Glad your interested 👍 there are X2 colour schemes for the be-6 the Soviet green or the Chinese blue, l liked the blue version but could only find suitable replacement decals for Soviet.
My first kit was the Matchbox Electric lightning,.... Built it with my dad....was nice as was 3 colour plastic out the box.
The first models l built on my own were the Veb/Playfix be-6, & Tu- bomber, so nice to revisit.
Got X2 models at min I'm preparing for paint.
Yours is coming along well...."carefully work" 👍👍

Welcome mates!
Thanks spanjaard and alec!
Zsolt: when i was looking for references i came across that there is a hungarian version.
Would have been really interested in it, but couldn't find anything about it.
Could also be due to the fact that these are yet to be delivered.
Could have asked you about it...😏
You've already done one as I've seen.
Still waiting on the new one when the time comes!
Anyway, started the bw afghanistan camouflage today.

The weathering still gives me a bit headache - dust on sand cam🥴

Thx Jv!
Yes, it's the original kit, only in new packaging.
As is usual with revell😏
However, I didn't have too many problems with the kit, even though I didn't get away with it completely without sanding.
Also there was no flash or sinking holes.
A readily available aluminum barrel would be a really good thing though...
Hope to see yours soon here Jv😁

I know what you are talking about!
My kits are stored in about 10 large boxes, safely packed, and the stock of colors and tools has also increased😅
The good thing about it: these are all resaleable😁
I also had a fairly large increase last year, but I think that most people in this hobby feel the same way!

It's important to find some time for yourself, regardless if you're building models or do something else in that time.
And you should be happy that you don't have that "many" kits in your stash. It's a curse. 😄

Honestly Simon, I noticed the details you handled about the dark green parts of the camo. Enhanced edge line and a little bit highlight/sun burn(can't find the word) with in. This resulted in a natural and comfortable look. Inspiring 🤔

Thank you Chan and James for your nice feedback 😁
@Chan: After I finished airbrushing, I reworked the edges and surface details with drybrushing (pale sand) to emphasize the details a bit more.
This is also a good trick to blend the colors together.
This effect will be a bit damped later, as the washing is still to be done.
But you can use this to simulate a light dusting, if you use a faded white color you can achieve a (what you might have meant 😁😉) sun bleached effect.
I have used acrylic paints but if you want to use this in later stages of the weathering, try well "bled out" oil paints, this creates softer effects.
@James: I would say you've chosen a good next project.
I personally find the Greek variant very interesting: a good alternative to NATO camouflage, they use other shades of green and brown paired with beige.
That would have been my first choice, but was too much effort for me when masking 😁😁

It took some time, but now it's done!
I had to think a lot about how to set up the weathering, as I have never depicted dust effects on a desert camouflage until now.
Hope that I can convince to some extent.

Hi @Michael. thank you! and yes, this kit is a total nightmare to build. Every inch of the way, from the first cut to the last fitting of the parts drove me NUTS! Pound for pound, building this kit is like walking trough waist-deep mud. I have my building notes if you are interested I can PM you.

" building this kit is like walking trough waist-deep mud."
Strange that some KH kits are a pleasure and some are bloody sh*t...😎

true @Holger. I think there are inconsistencies. this is my first KH, but I have friends who made other KH models and and they have different experiences. some good, better, some bad.

Indeed very impressive. Have the KH F-35A in the stash, not very eager to start it! Yours is fantastic Danumrthi 👍

This is another great build from you Danumurthi! Have this kit also in my stash, but after reading your words I guess I will keep it there for a longer time...if you could send me also your building reports as PM, I would really appreciate it! Again - fantastic work!

Hi @Erik - Thank You. I have only done the F-35C version and yes its a very challenging build. I only heard from word-of-mouth that each of the variants fairs differently. I head one of them A/B/C is a better fit. (but now you know C has serious issues). so the better one is maybe the A or B? LOL

Just sent you a PM @Christian. I spent a lot of time figuring out what to do. And testing approaches that will not harm or destroy the model. If I was to build another KH F-35C, I can definitely work faster knowing my lesson learned.

Great result! 👍 I envy you that you are already finished with yours 😄
Working just now on this same kit, it's a proper challenge, to put it nicely.
