Awesome & cool vehicle that nobody produces in 1/72.
This was my first foray into the 3D printed models and the fact alone that you can get pretty much anything done is
astounding. Other than that, the model is fantastic, albeit some limitations of printing resin are obvious. It's quite soft,
especially where the UV light can't quite reach(ie grills on the back), so I additionally cured it for a day on the sun. Still, I had to replace the
machine gun barrels because they were VERY thin and bendy (added the ammo and the box in the process) and the guard rail on the sides of the turret constantly broke on me, so I reinforced it with a bit of superglue. I added the bright blue cables as well, because I like the extra colorful details.
I intended to use MERDEC colors from the Starship, but research turned out that the brown is actually a different shade, lighter and more "red" that us field drab. So I used the Hataka IJA Khaki that I had just painted the type 97 on and the color looks perfect to me. The pattern is from the
Academy 1/35 version manual, and I think that it turned out really good.
Eventually I'll get the K2, and I'm looking forward to that.
