Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 Karl Wolff (WIP)
Challenge day at 10:00 - begin
Challenge day at 10:00 - beginning
Challenge day at 11:03 - closing wings first, to have a robust landing gear further ahead
Challenge day at 12:19 - initial progress on the fuselage sides and wings/gear

Challenge day at 12:19 - initial progress on the fuselage sides and wings/gear
Challenge day at 12:19 - initial progress on the fuselage sides and wings/gear
Challenge day at 14:04 - cockpit work
Challenge day at 15:29 - final touch ups, taking too long here...
Challenge day at 16:11 - getting ready to (finally) close
Challenge day at 17:15 - closing; the nose section was a nightmare to close
Challenge day at 18:13 - still adjusting fuselage; awful build experience
Challenge day at 19:08 - after more than two hours, the body is finally glued; masking and preparing the transparent parts
Challenge day at 20:43 - after dinner, plane is closed, now starting some filling and sanding; using only acrylic putty and CA+accelerator to speed up the process
Challenge day at 22:04 - now applying AK white primer diluted with MTL; I'm using white because plane has significant white areas
Challenge day at 23:45 - after masking, painted RLM76 using Gunze H417
Challenge day at 00:32 - painted RLM02 using MRP-50
Challenge day at 01:35 - masking took forever; RLM71 applied using MRP-61
Challenge day at 02:19 - details painted with a brush and plane varnished with Tamiya X-22 gloss, ready for decals
Challenge day at 03:19 - first decals applied
Challenge day at 05:19 - After two exhausting hours (!!) decals and stencils have all been applied; wheels, propeller and other details have also been taken care of
Challenge day at 06:28 - decals softened with Micro Sol dried, X-22 gloss applied over in preparation for the pin washes
Challenge day at 06:54 - I am now the only one still standing in the room; for the benefit of the party I decided to stop here and use the remaing 3hours at home, to try to finish the kit in 24hours
The model back at home, waiting for the remaining 3hours to try to finish it in 24hours
Working at home, washes applied; I managed not to ruin the white! 😄
Finished! All done in 24hours; it is true, the break after 21hours allowed for an effective dry of the varnish, but I still consider it an achievement; some things I would have done differently if I had more time, and also some corrections; nevertheless I am happy with the result and one less kit in my stash! 😄 Final photos here in the other album of this project: Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 Karl Wolff (24h) | Album by RReis (1:48)

wow - brilliant result - and all finished within 24 hours!
Maybe I should try this also ... would have a positive effect on my stash also

Thanks; it helps if you do it with friends, like I did it, in a local club; the deep night hours are really tough! 🙂

Wow, this speed is science fiction to me! 😄 And getting such a good looking plane in 24h? You're my hero.
What is this MTL you thinned the primer with? And how is the coverage of this AK primer? I always struggle with white priming...

Thank you mates; @David, MLT is Mr Levelling Thinner; I used it to make AK primer thinner and then painted MRP white on top of it, the AK primer is very aggressive on the airbrush, but I think it covers really well

Ah, OK, good old Leveling! Thanks for the tips, never tried this AK primer nor MRP paints yet.

At first I thought, wow nice looking model, clean build, thumbs up etc...but then 24 hours, seriously?? Chapeau, really really awesome! And all that with regular glue and not even super glue 😄 Really cool challenge, I honestly would like to try myself 👍 👍

Thank you Alexander; actually, I used CA glue + instant hardener in the bottom of the engine cover, because the two halves don't join well and I got a seam and I had no time to wait for putty to dry; other than that, all Tamiya glue; that's why I glued the legs as one of the first steps of the build, so that they would be set later in the day 🙂

That makes sense 👍
I did a "weekend build" once so I had three days to complete a model and it was a really simple Hobby Boss Me-163 kit. I uploaded the album. But man, this is on another level👍👍

I went to your profile and checked it out - also nice build, in a weekend! I must confess I feel really well when I finish one of the models in the stash quickly! 😄

Oh yes this is always such a relief😄 you just need sometimes a quick build between grueling long projects 👍
