It is amazing how detailed these small GHQ kits are. Love your little diorama with the Bergepanther! 🙂

Thanx Tim! Yep the detail is still amazing and it makes a lot of fun to "build" the small models. Some more stuff is in progress, just finished the Famo display. The Bergepanther display need some figures, than it should be finished for the MV gallery. Cheers, Christian

Hi Holger, thanx for your comment. The scale is 1:285. GHQ produce the models for wargamers, but the models look quite well for my scale 1:350 ship models (harbour scenes). Because I like the high quality I have started to make some "stand alone" displays. Cheers, Christian

Ya, that really fits fine into place of a 1:350 harbour-scene!Do GHQ have planes too? It would make me think about a "Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, Operation Cerberus" Diorama with Bf-109 flying over the ships... What an inspiration...🙂

They are white metal and they have planes too. Take a look to a review on modellversium:
modellversium.de/kit/artikel.php?id=8614
You find information about GHQ and suppliers in Germany here:
modellversium.de/kit/hersteller/614-.html
Hope that helps. Cheers, Christian

Hi mates, next to the Marder III I painted and detailed some new vehicles last weekend. Today I have made a new base from Fimo (plasticine to harden in the oven). Next to the Marder you find a Sd.Kfz 251, a Steyer 1,5to and a Horch command vehicle as well as two 10,5 field howitzer. Happy modeling, Christian

It will be more like painting figures I guess. However, there is no access panels to open, engines to detail, rigging, etc. A very interesting challenge!

Hi mates, I have start to paint a Dodge WC-54 Ambulance. First red over all, second a mask for the red cross, then a coat of white. Next is to mask the red crosses and apply a coat of olive green. Also some more progress on my last display. I add grass to the display base and paint it with different shades of green and I add some self made trees made from root and sea weed (model railway. The vehicles are applied and I still need some figures. Happy modeling, Christian

Hello Aghis, which set do you get (let me guess - some German stuff😉 ). Before you start painting the models you should clean them carefully. There are some very fine sprues and sometime visible parting lines to clean up. After removing sprues and parting lines I clean the models with a fibre pen.
Happy modeling, Christian

Thank you for the tips! I have seen some flush, and some casting lines that need clean up. I got a number of vehicles, Panthers, Panzer IV, Opel Blitzes, Steyr trucks, Nashorn and a couple of 88's... Also got some bridges and a railway station. I will have to get some more soon. When you say 'clean' at the end, you mean from the fine metal swarf ?

Yep, that?s exactly what I mean. Mmh a lot and interesting stuff. Take a closer look to the models, you will see differences in the quality. The Opel Blitz is an older model, the Steyer is a new one. The cast of the Steyer is more finer. I?m really interested how they did their master models, quite amazing!

Yes, I think you are right. I have already done one improvement: replaced the Panther flimsy gun with a brass rod gun. The master molds must be expensive I guess.

This evening I start and finished a new engine for a GHQ M60 Tank. I opened up the engine bay and put a engine into it and scratched a new engine displayed outside the tank ready to change by an M88. I hope it will look well after some paint and weathering. Happy modeling - Christian

I'll never complain again me choosing 72nd scale as my favorite scale, compared to this my models are HUGE. This is really extra-ordinairy work!

The French GCT 155mm Self Propelled Gun in UN colors was my last GHQ model I have finished. Due to the white paint I tried to apply some chipped paint. That works well with a small brush by stippeling the paint along the edges.

I agree with you,Aghis.
Did anyone pic 10 (Famo with trailer and panzer) in 1:35 ?
If when, there must be alot of space to place it.

Impressive to say the least... What kind of tools do you use for achieving such a result? Or do you teach (tiny) ants to do the job for you?

Hi Lionel,
at first thanx for your kind comment. Hehe, I prefer spiders, because of their fine results in rigging a ship 😉
But normaly ( 😉 ) I use a Gabbert air brush, Vallejo acrylics and small brushes. Working at all the details a good lense is most helpful as patience is too.
Cheers, Christian

Just wanted to mention it as this is a very good build by Christian and would like to appreciate all his pics...

Hi Christian, i would like to see it with some... volume? Hight? Imagine the church in a higher ground and the vehicles going down in a very narrow road with black stone surface... you could put a wall along that same road... imagine that is a convent isolated in the top of a hill...
only an idea 🙂

If the scene is supposed to be in France, the church is usually in the center of the village.
In front there's an open area closed by the town house (mairie) and elementary school (often in the same building in villages. The pub is in the neighborhood too.
Apart from these highlights of city life, the poshest houses of the village are closing the place.
