First start made
Working in subassemblies, painting some parts before committing to glue
Interior tub needs some extra work, and I'm looking into some replacement seatbelts.
Carved the seatbelts from the seat, and opened up the hole to feed the new belts trough
Cloth added with thin tissue paper
Seatbelt made from Aber photo etch belts.

Wheels painted black, as the competition cars had black, not silver rims like Tamiya suggest
Started to add some details to the engine, drilling holes for some wires.

Although I'm a petrolhead, I've not built many car models before.
My son is a big fan of racing cars in general, and old Japanese cars in particular. He has asked me to build this one for him.

Some small dust particles have sneaked into the paint, but nothing serious.

Yes, the dirtied up yellow is a pre weathering. I like my models dirty, real race cars are never clean

Jan Peters@yngvenett to answer your question: I started out with a black base, misted yellow over this, so it does not cover the black, and went back over it with yellow applied by brush. I will give it a wash of a dark brown later on.
