CH-47D Chinook (Revell 1/144) - In progress
Started working on assembling the interior, sadly the details are going to be hardly visible (if at all...) once the model is finished.
Fuselage glued together and some sanding done already.
The bottom part fit was not stellar, but I managed to achieve relatively satisfactory result after a bit of sanding. Did also some rescribing, but I guess it will need some final touch once I give it a coat of surfacer. I plan on covering the ugly gap under the tail engine section with a bit of a plastic sheet before gluing the rear end bottom fuselage panel.
One of the rotor blades had a broken end needed to attach it to the rotor head. I had to "implant" a small tin rod to ensure it doesn't brake off after gluing it together with a super glue.
Coming back to this project, finished masking the front of the heli, also I hope that I filled, sanded & polished all the gaps. Let's see what the first layer of surfacer will tell..
...and here we are, layer of black Mr. Surfacer later, plus some marbling in different shades to avoid a boring, uniform olive drab final coat.
Olive drab livery airbrushed & gloss varnish applied on top of that. Getting ready for decals.
Lil'Chinook is finished 🙂 I'm pretty happy with the result, only wish Revell would start adding some decent decals to their 144th scale production (they were terrible again...). And sorry, there won't be any photo from the below because I'm really scared of damaging the rotors, the rotor blade joints to the rotor head are really tiny and fragile (I managed to break off two of them during the painting alone).

Whoa, I have an audience now! 😄 Hope that I do not embarrass myself - if you have any comment on things that could had been done differently, I'm open to suggestions.
