The Al Dschaghbub Raid or: Waiting for the Kiwis

Three old kits: 1 x Italeri and 2 x Tamiya. 

Buildings and base are made of foam. Most is homebrewed, exceptions: doors, grid (Miniart). The spires are litter: The cap of a spray can in halfes and putty. The bay windows are made of cardstock. 

The base is 370 x 380 mm. Building time (without the vehicles) almost half a year. Costs: low - fun: high. 

The kilt. OMG. Painting skills are asked. Not my cup of tea. But there was a piece of tartan on the packaging. I had cut it out, soaked the cardboard in water, rubbed up the backside of the cardstock carefully. Result: perfect tartan! A little white glue and matt varnish had done it. The backside of the Scotchman? Nobody will see. 

Desert dust is made of "Löss", a relict of the iceages. As healing earth available in drugstores. 

A very static scene, but nearly all are looking at someone else or are communicating with another person.
