What a sweet kit!!! Looks cool! But the "thing" behind the air intake looks huge...

Quite a nice kit, don't remember a big problem with the fit the way it is with yours, but could be my memory!

Maybe I?m spoiled by Eduard?s MiG😉 Any idea if there is replacement canopy for the MiG-19?

We are all spoiled by Eduard! I remember now the problem I did have was the canopy, I made a new one but there is no fairing into the rear of the canopy to the fuselage so it looks wrong. Take a look at it before you go too far. No canopy I know of unless the Brengun Mig 17 might fit, I will have a look as I have it.

@Jens, White Putty is applied😉 still wait until it is completely dry. @Mike, I ordered the MiG-17 canopy but I think it will not fit to a MiG-19. I?m not familiar with vacuforming canopies, but it seem to me I have to look and learn because most of the scale 1/144 canopies aren?t as good as Eduard?s.

I just use a heat and smash method, if you google it (maybe Youtube as well) you will find a better description than I can give I am sure. If not let me know and I will try and show the way I do it. It is not hard at all, just make a few copies each time as the hardest part is trimming to fit. I am just doing it for my Lagg but can't find the camera cable to download!

I start the Shanyang F-6. The parts are quite well with a bit too deep panel lines. The fuselage parts fit very well. I was not so confident with the air intake so I drilled a hole into the one piece molded part out and add a scratch build inlet. The fit of the wings is not as good as the fuselage halves but some filler will relieve it. It is not an Eduard kit but with some extra work you will get a nice representation of this cold war bird. I plan to build the camouflaged Pakistani AF F-6.
