Will have to wait until I get the decals on it before I do any more. Wouldn't look right to have brand new markings over weathered vehicle. LOL.

Hello, I am interested in making this version of the kit, but the question arises as to why the manufacturer indicates to paint the canvas green? I have not seen any photographic reference in those colors. Only in sand color completely. Could you help me clarify this question?

Thank you and very good work.

Franklin, There is an easy answer. I have ridden in many a tan HMMWV with OD green canvas tops and doors. They all started out greed, then the metal frames were over-sprayed with tan, except the canvas, tools, winches and tires. Ed, it looks really authentic! K/r, Dutch

Thanks Dutch, for your quick response!

Now with that point clarified, another question arises. I would like to introduce you with the long tailpipe configuration for landing. Did the configuration exist in the Gulf War? Sorry for the questions but on the internet I have not got many references to what I want to express on the model. Thanks in advance and again ... Ed I liked your work, congratulations.

Yes, of course! It was a "bolt on" attachment for most USMC HMMWVs. We would receive the HMMWVs new, stripped down for transport, but everything in the back in cardboard boxes or strapped to the frame. Our Motor-T mechs would then "assemble" the new HMMWV, and invariably we would install the tall air intake stack and the tall exhaust that went up along the drivers side behind the passenger door cutout and the rear wheel, angled slight aft, I believe.

Thank you very much Dutch, now I am more excited with the project.

You will have some photos that you can pass me by mail. It would be very helpful to replicate the model.

Greetings and thanks again.
