Christian BruerI just start some basic work to get an overview and to find out what else is to do. A nice kit so far with a good casting but similar to HMS Tiger the kit lack some detail for that scale. I guess there will be some more work to do, but the first layout looks quite nice. Now I have to look for some more references.

Ingmar StöhrYesterday I had no time to really comment on the build. Today I took a closer look. This kit really is missing some details. But what is there seems to bee crisp and clean.

Christian BruerYes Ingmar, a typical Combrig kit. They offer a good basic with a good resin casting, but less details and mostly a bad PE set. But they improved their new kits. I bought the M50 minesweeper not so long ago and this kit is a real stunner with a lot of details in resin and a nice PE set.
Anyhow, there is a lot of work to do to improve the kit and to optimise the parts but that's what I enjoy in modelmaking 🙂

Kombrigs HMS New Zealand in scale 1/350. The kit is more or less a downscale from their scale 1/700 kit. Main casting is good to very good, but some details are missing for the bigger scale 1/350. I use the BMK mast and gun barrel set which is sadly no longer available. For railings etc. I will use Flyhawk and other PE. Rest will be scratch build if necessary. I plan to build her prior to Jutland (or Skagerrak in German history), but still miss some references because of her fit in May 1916. She is well photographed during her 1913 visit in New Zealand, but later photos are still missing.
