57 Chevy
Pretty rough even for a resin body...
Yikes!
No fender to cowl lines, R wiper way out of the hole
the door edge scribing is pretty bad
The newer Revell 2 Dr Ht chassis fits best
The newer Revell hood
The AMT hood, way too wide in front
The Amt Chassis...much too wide!
Revell (L) & Amt (R) hoods
Revell hood on top
The old (85) Revell hood fits thebest, but will need lots of gap filling!
The 2 revell hoods new & old
Front bumper is way too wide. How woud I fill the gap of the chrome trim on the hood?
the body line under the rear window is terrible!
All the other bodies are wider than the resin one. This is the new Revell....so what did they use for a mold????
The Amt
The Old Revell
All 4 side by side. Old Revell (L), AMT (2nd from left), Resin, and new Revell on right. AMT roof seems widest
from the rear, note the differences between the trunks & rear windows
wheel wells seem most like the new Revell
The AMT hood, quite wide in the front.
THe new Revelll hood, still too wide in the front
The OLD Revell hood, fairly close in the front....
....but will need lots of work to fill the gaps
Check the R wiper, it's not even in the hole!

The problem is the resin body you have is designed for the original (1962) tool Amt kit. The kit you have is the newer tool (1997 although the box art was wrong on this version as it shows a sedan and the kit was actually a sport coupe). The Revell kit IS a sedan but is completely different from both Amt toolings.

You're probably right about that tripower! The oldest one I have is from the 80s combo set, it doesn't fit for beans. The sedan chassis fits pretty well. What surprises me is how different they all are!!

Actually I want to build 2 57 Chevys. My grandmother had a NEW turquoise hardtop back in the late 50s early 60s and I had a 4 dr 210 when I was in high school. Well, I also have the Nomad kit!
Anyway this resin body in looking less and less appealing every time I look at it!
I may just settle for the Revell 2 dr sedan and paint it my colors (pink & white).
The AMT hardtop kit actually looks real nice for a made in Mexico kit.
So at this point it looks like that's what I'll do.
The resin body is a POS. Not to say t couldn't be done, I just don't want to spend the time when I have so many others I want to build.
