This is really cool. Impressive! Especially when you consider how small it is.
Album info
This is a 1/87 resin kit from FineCast Models. I added the windscreen braces, made windows from acetate, scratch-built the side mirrors, added a hydraulic harness made from fish-line, and replaced the rear tow pintle with one from a Roco detail set. I also replaced the kit steering wheel and drilled out the headlights to accept MV lenses. On the real vehicle the windscreen tips leans forward a little and the side mirrors slant down a bit. I tried to match that in my build. The M877 was an articulated truck fielded by the the U.S. Army in the late 1970s. trucks without the cargo crane were labeled M520. Mine is painted and marked to match vehicles of the 81st Field Artillery Regiment stationed in Germany in the late 1970s. This style of MERDC camouflage was particular the the U.S. 7th Army.
