I just brought my kit getting ready to start the fine details of the interior spaces. Any suggestions on how to open up the hull to fit in the components would be very helpful.
Thanks

I used a proxon rotary tool for the rough cutting and then CMK razor saws, files and sanding sticks to fine-tune. Was the most nervous part of the project

Should also be doable without powertools with a jigsaw or just razor saws

Did the CMK kits provide a diagram of where to make your cuts?
This is were it's nerve racking as I'm sure it was for you, you spend a couple hundred on the kit the last thing you want to do is botch the job before you even start. I have also thought of having the left side of the hull cast in clear plexiglass or vacuum formed not sure if that could be an option or even if it is the cost would be worth it. Comunity and your thoughts.
Now that I think about it, if perhaps I commissioned the fabrication of several of them I could sell them as an aftermarket kit to help offset the initial costs of the fabrication.

The CMK kits include instructions on where to cut, I made the cuts way smaller than suggested at the start and proceeded to check and enlarge.

thank you Vesa I am feeling a bit better about cutting into it now if I can not get a clear form fitting

I photographed this model 2 years ago at BSMC, maybe it can be of some help? [img1]

One thing I also thought about was to first drill few holes and make sure the locations are right, but didn't end up doing that

This is great stuff guys and I appreciate it all.
We spend good hard earned money on our hobbies and the last thing you want to do is hose up a project, even before it has a chance to get going.
