Here are the first pics of my contribution for this group build. I started late (last week) but hope to finish it within this year. I intended to build it out of the box only with additional seat harness (from an Eduard kit) and brake circuit pipes at the landing gear struts. But meanwhile I think that I will add some additional wiring in the cockpit and the engine definitely needs additional pipes and hoses. Most subassemblies are done now and extra detailing will start.

Nice start! 🙂
I haven't yet built a Zvezda kit but I got a couple in my stash, so I'm really interested in watching the progress! 👍

The kit includes two different end caps for the wings. The instruction say to use the right one at the photo. But i am not sure if this is correct. All Drawings I owe show the left one but I could not find any photo of an F4 wing produced by WNF that shows the wing cap. What is the correct wing cap for a plane from the 13001 to 13391 WNo slot? Any hints?

@Björn: Until now everything fits well and the parts are very clean. The only thing I do not understand is why they did this extreme detailing at the inside of the wing which will be no more visible as well as the seperate wing panels.

Can some one of you can answer my question from yesterday regarding the wing tips?

I've only seen the type on the left. As they always say: Check reference photos for a specific aircraft. 🙂

Thank´s Nathan. The type on the left is also the only one I know. Unfortunately no pics of the wings of the specific Aircraft is available.

Some progress. Cockpit is finished and the fuselage is closed including the motor wall. Fit is very good with exception of the fuselage and wing inlays. Necht step is to do some extra details at the engine.

The engine needs a lot of extra detailing which causes slow progres because of the time consuming research and scratchbuild actions. Some pics of the first stage added. Next step is to paint this followed by additional piping and extra detailing of the engine compartment.

Thank´s mates.
Now it is painted but still not ready because some pipes have finally to be fixed after the engine mouting struts are installed.

I started the paint job yesterday. The project will not be finished within 2020 but I am quite sure that it will be within the first week of 2021.

Great to see the progress, Christian 👍
As this is a hobby, all deadlines are subjective to inspiration😉

Thanks Sergej I. You are right. I also have to state that I started one month after the start of he group build because I did not catch it. But the Bf is my favorite subject so I coud not resist. And as you stated: It is a hobby and it should be done without preassure.

Meanwhile some shit happened. I applied the wrong crosses at the top side of the wings ( the ones for the lower side). My attempts to get them off by soaking them with water was without success. The damned Vallejo paints I used for RLM 74 and 75 showed bubbles despite I sealed everything with Tamiya alcohol based gloss clear cote. I have to wait now until it dries and then I will sand off wrong decals.

Update regarding the vallejo paints: After drying the bubbles are gone and everything looks o.k. again. I sanded off the wrong crosses today and repainted everything. Some pics will follow later on.

All dacals are applied. Next will be a slight weathering and final assembly ( antenna, cowling and engine covers, retention wire of the folding hod, pitot tube)

I declare it finished!
This kit shows a good fit but also shows some from my poinzt of view senseless details like the ribs inside the wings. Also I do not unterstand that the under wing is devided in several parts which causes the need of putty. Nevertheless it is a good base for a plane with open cowling to didplay te engine. But if you do this you need some research and extra detailing.
