Why not and at some models I did it. But I think, the tank must fight and if the tank is dusty, muddy and rusty, it couldn't fight very well. And the tank crew did maintenance. My opinion.😉

Looking at wartime photos leaves litle duobts, not a lot of time to clean arms during action😎

Dominik, I think wash and dry brush makes model look more realistic. It is not for making it dirty. And I think there was no time to clean tanks especially during WW2.
