Build is now complete and the main painting has started. Similar to those of the F, the G-2's elegant lines really struck me when the priming was complete. RLM 04 yellow areas were painted and masked, followed by RLM 76 and RLM 75 and 74 on the wings, with subtle fading and shading. Fuselage painting and mottling is next.

The main painting is now complete. I used a #0 brush to dip and dab acrylic RLM 70 onto the cowling, paying attention to the size, spacing and density. From the closer photos of the plane, it looks like the JG 52 ground crew applied the paint in a similar manner. Tamiya X-22 and Mr. Color Leveling Thinner made for a luxurious gloss coat. Time for decals.

My rendition of Johannes Steinhoff's BF 109G-2 is now complete. Decals went on with no problems, except I had use some of my extra decals from other kits because those from Pössum Werks didn't all match the photos (e.g., black outline around the wing crosses). Weathering was heavier than usual for this hardworking airframe. The final flat coat was a mix of Alclad Matte and Flat. Enjoy the photos and thanks for looking.

"Achtung!Größtmaß 150-650". The fact that I can read this says it all: perfect build with great attention for detail!
