Boulton Paul Defiant L7009, of No.141 Sqn out of West Malling, flown by Flt Lt DG Donald with P/O AC Hamilton as his Gunner. This was one of six aircraft lost on 19 July 1940. After being hit, Donald kept the aircraft aloft to allow Hamilton to bale out, but was killed when the aircraft crashed at Elms Vale Road, Dover. Hamilton sadly drowned. Donald was 22 and hamilton was 28.
